If you are a person with respiratory issues, here’s a list ot the 50 cities you probably don’t want to live in. The study used three criteria for ranking these places:
- Prevalence of the following: sinusitis, pharyngitis (sore throat), bronchitis, acute upper respiratory infections, pneumonia, otitis media (middle ear infection), other respiratory tract infections and the common cold
- Total per capita prescriptions written for oral antibiotics for respiratory tract infections
- Prevalence of state level antibiotic resistance
Of the top ten cities on the list, eight were in the South. The Western portion of the country had the least number of cities on the list.
