Top 50 Smartest Cities

Kiplinger’s just released their list of 50 Smart Places to Live and I found the results rather interesting. My town, Atlanta finished 4th on the list with our “…rich history, good health care, a great cultural scene and genteel neighborhoods shaded by magnificent dogwood and magnolia trees.”

What did Kiplinger’s look for to rank these cities?

  • A place where you could buy an attractive home for $300,000 to $400,000.
  • Access to quality health care.
  • A strong economy
  • Neighborhoods with flavor

Here’s the top 10. You can see the rest at Kiplinger’s.

  1. Nashville, TN
  2. Minneapolis - St. Paul, MN
  3. Albuguerque, NM
  4. Atlanta, GA
  5. Austin, TX
  6. Kansas City
  7. Asheville, NC
  8. Ithaca, NY
  9. Pittsburgh, PA
  10. Iowa City
